X CLUB.
Born through a desire to experiment and push the boundaries of modern club music, ‘X CLUB.’ is the project of Brisbane based production duo Ben Clarke and Jesse Morath. The two creatives individually made a move into the Brisbane electronic music scene via their previous solo projects sharing club stages with numerous Australian and international producers. After playing a spontaneous back to back set and discovering they shared an equal passion for a rather more raw and experimental side of electronic music, the two joined forces and never looked back.
Drawing major influence from the iconic sounds of the 90’s warehouse rave movement and modern experimental artists such as Bjaarki, Objekt, Skee Mask, PTU and Clouds, Clarke and Morath have quickly developed a unique sound. Meddling with elements of techno, house, breakbeat and electro, X CLUB.’s production is forever developing and refuses to be tied down by genre. While the duo’s arsenal of tech-heavy reworks of dance floor classics have earned them global online attention, their rather unique dynamic and energetic sets are quickly gaining a powerful reputation among artists and fans alike. X CLUB.’s works are seeing constant support from a number of high profile artists including Mall Grab, DJ Gigola, Kettama, Shampain, FJAAK, Aloka and Partiboi69.
This momentum is only set to grow with a series of forthcoming releases this year on heavyweight labels including a 5-track EP on Mall Grab’s imprint Steel City Dance Discs.
